Personal Background:
He grew up in Christchurch, New Zealand and studied from Pre-school all the way to University there. Photography was always his hobby but he never studied it. He first worked in the food industry before being able to be a full time photographer. He was apparently fascinated about peoples food requests and thought what they wanted to eat said a lot about the person's character and personality. When he began working in fashion in the early 2000’s he wanted to be the guy calling the shots behind the camera, so he brought a camera and began to play and see if he could get nice pictures. He worked for 4 years as a high fashion model. In till he became a photographer and had his first expedition in 2012.

Style:
Hargreaves likes to take pictures of food and what you can do with it. He also experiments with different and creative photography projects. For example he took some amazing photos of food on fire in the collection "Burning Calories". Most of his photos revolve around food. He enjoys playing with his food and pulling a twist to the photos. This makes his style seem playful and fun. Since his photos are of food the viewer can immagian what it would taste like or what different foods went into the photo.

Philosophy:
Hargreaves work mostly consists of food. He believes that what food some orders or likes says a lot about their character and personality. He also brings this idea into his work by showing the connections visually. Through his photographs, he describes who he is not only as a photographer but also as a person. Color, fun and interesting. For example in his photo collection "FISH FOOD DIVE BAR" his color and fun side with vibrant cups and backgrounds with fish in the mix for a twist. In one of his collections called "Swag Meals" he have fun with what different people who play video games would eat through the evolution of game consoles.

Influences:
I was interested by the way Henry turns normal food items into amazing and interesting pieces of art. I used to think the only good photos were of landscapes and all others were not interesting. After looking at his work, I am inspired to take normal food items and turn them into art and take photos of them. I have learn the importance of color and the way all objects are placed in a photo.
One of my favorite things about his photos is how colorful they tend to be and the food involved. I have never really seen any other photographer like him.

Game Over Collection
Compare and Contrast: For this photo I tried to use a pink starburst to recreate the first photo because I could not find anything with the same shade of pink. And I had to edit the background like the origin. I found that even though the starburst are smaller they still work for the photo.
Damiens Dots Collection
Compare and Contrast: For this project I looked around all over for the purple, black, and pink m&ms however I sadly found out they are only available during some holidays. However I think I did try to get as close as I could. In this project I found that the M&M white logos are easily rubbed off. For this photo I want to encompass the fun and crazy side of the photographer I was recreating because I felt the M&M photo was too perfect. So I decided to make them not so uniform.
Bacon Alphabet Collection
Compare and Contrast: For this photo I only had pre-cooked bacon so there is a color difference. However there is still some white fat on it. I found that bacon was hard to work with so some of the strips of bacon on my photo are fatter.
Artist Statment
I really enjoyed taking these pictures. I had trouble choosing which image I wanted to recreate because how complicated some of his photos are. I hope that my three photos depict the fun of playing with your food. The first photo (Game Over Collection) I loved how even though the photo is very simple it shows the fun of games even if you can't win. The M&M photo was interesting to me because of how little was going in this photo compared to all of this other photos and I think my twist add some of that back into the photo. The third photo (Bacon Alphabet) is such an interesting use for bacon who would of thought to make fancy letters out of bacon. Bacon is a greasy and kind of dirty meat.
